.  I made some Pajama pants today for Tanner.  First time that I have sewed anything other then a pillow since I was about 14.  Tanner has been waiting and waiting for me to make those pants. He has another fabric picked out also.. some Camo that he wants next.  I didn't make the shirt just the bottoms.  He likes to wear just t-shirts to bed anyway. I may attempt a shirt sometime.  Maybe when I get a little bit better. The elastic took a bit as I really had to think and figure it out, and to thread it thru the 'casing" was tough! It was fun.. and I was proud of myself!

Ok so Tanner just came over to me and said that Allison freaks him out.  Allison is our 4 year old neighbor girl.  Pam (her mom) always says that Allison loves Tanner.  I asked him why.. and he said because sometimes Alison calls me her boyfriend.. and I don't love her!  LOLOLOL that is so funny.  I couldn't stop laughing and he then says... Oh mom I like it when you laugh like that.. like uncontrollable!  Really where does the boy get this stuff.

He and Rick did some raking today.. and Tanner had fun in the leeaves, but he took hs shirt off and was jumping in the leaves and now has all kinds of red bumps and scrapes on his back.  Not sure if it is because of an alllergey or jsut scratched up his skin.

7 mos.. that's a bit of a break. I look at the Blog link on my computer everyday, feel guilty that i don't use it. I am not sure why but I do. I can use the excuse that we have been busy. But since I am on the computer everyday that seems lame. So I will go with LAZY! That and I don't think I like to write. Tanner has been a busy boy. He loves to take classes and play sports. He isn't the best at sports but he likes to go and play. This summer it was T-ball and Soccer.

This fall will be a busy one as Tanner is taking a class at Belle Tower, Gymnastics, CCD and now wants to do Cub Scouts. Cub Scouts starts in 2 weeks, and its only 2 a month. So his class at Belle tower will almost be over. I think he will like Cub Scouts.

We just got done decorating the outside of the house for Halloween and I spent an hour looking for the "hood" from his old Buzz Lightyear costume. I sold it to someone at work.. and I know the dam thing is hear somewhere but I can find it.

I will once again be helping Tanners Kindergarten teacher Molly Weber with her scrapbooks that she gives the kids at the end of the year. We have become friends and I enjoyed helping.

Tanner does have a Field trip to the Apple orchard coming up and also his School Walk a Thon. I am attending the field trip with him, but not the Walk a Thon. He will have a busy week that week!

I wont even begin to promise that I will do better, but I will try.

some pics from WDW. March 12 we went to Epcot and it was raining. Good thing we didnt get there till around 4. We went to Club Cool and tried some Different types of Coke, and then went to the Journey into Imagination building. We ate at the Rose and crown Pub. Our waitress was Harriet. She was very friendly even tho she screwed up our bill. We watched the Illuminations as the rain had finally cleared up. We then got to ride Soarin, and went to Turtle Talk with Crush and looked thru bthe whole Living Seas building. Tanner got to ask Crush a question... He asked him what kind of Fish he like to eat. It was pretty funny as he didnt know waht to say, then ended up saying Fish are freinds not food. Then asked Tanner what his favorite food was.. and Tanner said Fish sticks! Crush then called for security! We left and got to the hotel around 11.

On March 13 we went to Epcot agian. We rode Test Track right away. it was pretty fun! We also checked out the other parts of Future world. We rode on Spaceship Earth. We chose not to ride Mission Space as we heard it was am intense ride! Tanner also got his pic taken with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy! We then walked around the countries and Tanner bought a passport and got it stamped and signed at each station in each country. He also did some shopping. He wanted to buy something in every counrty. Mom and I did the Pick a peral in Japan. She got twin pearls in her clam! Mine was a 7 1/4. We had them set in settings there as well. We then ate at Le Celliar in Canada! The food was EXCELLENT! I would eat there again for sure. Creme Burlee was awesome and so was the Beer Cheese soup!

On March 14 we went to Hollywood Studios. Tanner got his pic taken with a green army man, Buzz, Woody, Lighting and Mater! We also rode Toy Story twice. Rick and I rode on Rockin Roller Coaster, while Grandma and Papa took Tanner to Playhouse Disney. We watched the parade, and the Lights Motor Action Stunt Show. Tanner really liked that one. We went to the Muppets 3-D and for lunch ate at Pizza Planet. For dinner we went to 50s Prime time Cafe. We had the best waiter.. Cousin Cooper. He played his part well! He got mad at Rick for not saying please, Mom and Dad for elbows on the table, and really gave mom guff when she didnt eat her corn. I did hear it for not eating the green beans aslo! He was funny!

On March 15 we went to the Magic Kingdom. We ate at Chef Mickeys for Breakfast and the celebrated Dads Birthday. They swung napkins around and had fun singing. Tanner just giggled and giggled. Tanner really liked Big Thunder Mountain. He also got to ride Splash Mountain. We did get "stuck" on it... and sat in a couple different parts for a bit. We rode on the Jungle Cruise and Tanner, Papa and Rick rode on the Carpets of Alladin. Then we went to Fantasyland.. where it was a ZOO! we waited in line for 45 min to ride Dumbo! We dodged out of there and went to Tommorrowland. We rode SpaceRanger Spin, Laugh Floor the TTA and the Grand Prix Cars. My car didnt want to go very fast and Dad was trying to bump me! We ate at Tonys Town Square for dinner. It was OK. Not bad..but not awesome either. Mom and Dad thenleft to the resort. We stayed and waited for the fireworks and the night time parade. Tanner watched the parade but fell asleep right before they started. They were really cool. He woke up and watched a bit.

On March 16 we hung out at the hotel in the AM. Jeannette and Al came and visited for awhile. Tanner showed them all the cool things at the resort. We had a snack at the food court as well. We then went to Downtown Disney and Disney Qwest. Tanner did some major shopping, had a meltdown in the toy store. He spent most of his monies at the Lego store! It was pretty big! We ate at Wolfgang Pucks Express.. SUPER awesome counter service! Grandma and Papa took Tanner back to resort and we did a bit more shopping! Went to Goofys Candy Store! It was smaller then I thought it would be.

On March 17 we went to Animal Kingdom. We had a Character breakfast at Tusker House. We then went on the Safari ride.. it was so bumpy! We did get to see alot of animals and some at pretty close range. Its hard to take pics tho becuase of the bumpiness. and walked thru alot of the exhibts. Saw the tigers and Gorillas. Tanner got his pic with jimmy Cricket, and Rafiki. We got to see an owl up close as well. It looked like the Owl from Harry Potter. Tanner loved the Boneyard.. a big playground and dig site. We then went on the "flying" Dinosaurs. When we were done we wnt back to the resort and hung out for awhile. We then went to Planet Hollywood for dinner.

It was not fun trying to pack the luggage. I had to take the legos out of their boxes and repack in Ziplock bags! They didnt weigh over 50 tho!

On March 18.... the last day... we went back to the Magic Kingdom and did some favorites, Big Thunder Mountain. Tanner got to do Space Ranger Spin and Laugh Floor again while we went on Space Mountain. Rick and I went on Its a small world and Haunted Mansion while Tanner and Papa rode the Merry go round. We headed back to the resort and had some lunch there. We then waited for the bus to take us to the airport! First plane ride was fine.. the second one.. not so much. We had to walk a ways to get to the next gate.. and then we sat on the plane for about 45 -60 min while waiting for people and then had to wait our turn to take off. We finally got to Moline at 1130. Got our luggage loaded up by a super nice lady. Then on the way home.. 2 deer ran out in front of our van! Thankfully I wasnt going very fast and was ab le to swerve and miss him by about an inch. The other deer stop and at leasted waited till we passed to go across! That was fun! But Tanner didnt even wake up!

It was a great trip and we had so much fun. Tanner became a big fan off Stitch.. he says because Stitch is wild like him. Now he wants all kinds of Stitch things! We had 126 pics on our Photo pass and we took about 700 pics. It should be fun to scrapbook!

Finally.. so sorry it took so long.. but it seems like I havent been able to get anything done. The basket is about half way thru this clip.

I did get my haircut finally after about 8 months of not cutting it. We also got our new carpet in. it looks awesome. Cant wait to do the bedroom next.

Right now we are at 9 days till vacation. and I am trying to get as much done now so I dont have it all floating around in my head.

This week sometime I will convert the video of Tanners first basket and post it up. Now that we are home from the Dells I hope to be able to sleep better. I wont have 2 vacations to be thinking about.. just the big one! This week I have to get the suprise for check in all set up.

We had a great time this weekend. There was only few tears. Tanner went on one of the big raft rides with Rick and I. It was fun. The kids were loud and crazy, but they had so much fun being togather. So did the parents. The condo was awesome. It had a loft bedroom and that is where we put all the kids. The was a nice hot tub and 2 bedrooms downstairs. Tanner was up till past 10 onn friday night and then the kids were up at 615 on Saturday. He was so tired that by the time we got to the 3rd waterpark, he climbed up on my lap and slept for an hour. I was a bit tired to and rested for a bit. He also slept all the way home.

Well we really have not been doing anything different. Same week after week right now, Gymnastics Tuesday and Basketball on Wednesday. School did get cancled 2 more days so we are now into the June 8th as the last day of school.

A couple weekends ago we made a big paper robot! He has named him Roobie... and he is in his room.

We akso went to a hockey game with Young Uns. The Aitchisons and the Clancys went too. So did Grandma and Papa'

Last weekend Tanner and I spent last weekend making his Valentines day box. Last night we made out his Valentines and he kept saying he was so tired of writing his name. It was only 22 times. LOL. He had Star Wars Valentines. He was so thoughtful on how he decided who got what one. We then took a copy of his class picture and cut the pics out and glued those on to the "to" area. That way he could hand them out easier.

In art class today Tanner made a Valentine for Addison.. see picture.

Tonight we went to Red Robin and had dinner with Grandma and Papa. Tanner again one a stuffed animal in the crane game. Grandma and Papa gave hima t-shirt, hat, and puck from the new hockey team for Valentines Day.

We then came home and he dug into some of the treats he got at school.. and the basiclly passed out on the floor, see picture! A few days ago he fell asleep while eating pizza!

Monday night we went to Target and Tanner got a space lego. He loves to put the sets together.. and he is actually very good at following the pictures and doing it. We almost lost a mitten there.. spent about 15 miuntes looking for it. Bought an new pair for 1.98. Tanner said they are soft and furry inside and feel like Kitty!

I took some video at gymnastics on Tuesday.. hopefully this weekend I will get it converted and uploaded. Wednesday he had basketball. They also had a planned early release. The Thunderbirds came to Young uns to talk to the school age kids. Tanner got some autographs and possibly 4 free tickets to next weekends games. We also went to Sam's and picked up some stuff. IT was sooo cold out. Its been below zero in the mornings.. with the windchill! Yuck.. I cant wait for Spring!

Tonight was grocery night! We have been on the go alot this week. So glad we have nothing going on over the weekend.

Today is also Grandma J's Birthday.. Happy Birthday to her!!!

We were so excited this Morning when we woke up and so no snow on the ground. Dry pavement. That meant school was not going to be delayed or called off and we would have the filed trip to the Swiss Valley Nature Center. Tanner was excited and I told him I would see him in a little bit as I was working a funny half schedule day so that I could still go.

At 8:00 Rick called me to tell me that Mrs. Weber was trying to call me and the field trip was canceled. WHAT… there is a few flurries outside. And its not even going to amount to an inch. Oh my I bet the kids are mad too. I am sure they will not reschedule it. Although on the paper that they sent home on Friday it said that they would have it if school was not delayed or canceled. If it was then it would not be made up. So unfair to the kiddos. The other 2 kindergarten classes are signed up to go this Friday. So half of them get a field trip and the other half not so much. Tanner has been asking to go to Target for a week now.. So I will take him there after school. I don’t think there will be any birds or deer tracks to look at .. but we will make out own field trip I guess.

We went to Target and bought daddy the Office season 5. Tanner also got a Space police lego, and we bought some activity books to take on the airplane ride!

We are officially at 45 days!

I think I finally got this to work.. I had to convert it to another format, but I think we are good to go this time.

Well I cant get the video to load. I will keep trying. On Thursday they called school off again. It was really icy out and when Rick went to back his car out of the drive way so I could leave he sliped all over the place ans we actually almost slide into each other. He couldn't even get is car back into the drive way. We left it in front of Frances house. He eventually got to work at around 945. By the time noon rolled around it had gotten warm enough that everything was melted and it was fine out.

We went to moms that night and Tanner played with Grandpa. But when we left it was misting again and getting cold. I was mad because Tanner had a field trip on Friday and I had taken off work to go.

So sure enough on Friday morning the phone rings and there is a 2 hour delay. So his field trip was canceled. We were pretty bummed. Mrs. Weber emailed me and said she would let me know if they were going to reschedule it. So I cleaned the house :( Yuck!

When I picked Tanner up at 330 he told me that the field trip was going to be on Monday ... but if there is a delay or school is canceled... they will not be able to reschedule it again :( there is snow in the forecast for Monday! I really hope it holds off till at least 11. He is pretty excited to go the Swiss Valley Nature Center to see the birds and look for tracks in the snow!

Friday night we went to the hockey game with Grandma and Papa. Tanner watched for the first few periods. But I think he got bored in the 3rd. Even tho he said the hockey game was t short and wanted to know why they didn't play more periods.

We are supposed to go to a sleigh riding party today at 3. But its raining.. so I don't think we will be going... who wants to sleigh ride in the rain. Not to mention that the snow is hard as a rock for them ice storm the last few days!

No school today! I guess there were scared of the rain... because that is all we really got. They thought it was going to freezing rain.. but it didnt. Now they have used all all the built in snow days. So if the cancel anymore we will be going into the second week of June.

Tanner had basketball tonight.. he had a ball! I am going to try and post a video from the game. At least this time they got more then 1 basket! It didnt go thru.. so I will try again when I get home from work.

Today Rick got his new glasses. I am going to try and snap a photo of them .. but he won't let me. It came with a clip, they are very similar to what he has. But his lens are thicker because he Rx got worse.

Yesterday Tanner went to the Loras swimming pool with Young Uns. He had to wear a swim belt and it chaffed his skin a bit because he had a big red mark around his middle, He also had a bump on his head where Aiden elbowed him and then Tanner slipped and fell on the ice. Poor little buddy. He watched the new ICarly last night and then watched the Big Bang Theory. He actually read one of his books that he got from the library... he read most of the words.

Tanner had gymnastics tonight. I took a few photos since last year I didn't have many from there. I didn't have the right camera. I don't like to use a flash there because I don't want to disturb them. So the one we have now is better. When we got home Rick showed Tanner a sled he bought for a sledding party that we are going to on Saturday.. and Tanner thought it was awesome.. and said : I think I will try this out on the stairs! " Umm I don't think so! Thankfully he said it before he actually did it.. so I could say NO!

It was nice to have Friday off. I got the Christmas decorations down outside. I got to go to Target and Borders. I found Tanner an Easter present at Target! It was the Buzz and Woody play set he wanted.. it was regular 45.00 but on clearance at 12.48. SCORE. Its up in the closet! He will love it! I should have looked at what else they had but there were 3 people in that isle and also they were trying to stock some of it.. it just wasn’t feasible.

Friday night Jamie and Sue came over to scrapbook. Jamie brought Emma so Tanner and her ran around the house and played. At about 10:00 they both got pretty tired and wound down and were laying on the couch almost sleeping!

On Saturday we got Tanner signed up for Soccer. We were hesitant to do so as .l.. well frankly we don’t enjoy soccer. Its also a big commitment. They start paying in May and go all the way thru the end of July or beginning of August. There are also snacks/drinks that you have to bring several times and line ref the games. But Tanner liked it.. so we will play again this year. Since he is still in T-Ball and that is only on Saturdays they don’t conflict. But who knows what the year after will be. Maybe he wont be into it that much. But right now I think he is still trying stuff out and seeing what he likes… He cant like all the sports all the time can he? If there is anything ever going on.. and you ask him if he wants to do it.. he will always say yes. He just really likes to be involved in stuff…. Which is good. I would hate for it to be the opposite!

I also booked the Condo for the Wisconsin Dells trip. We have never bee4n to the Wilderness before .. but have heard great things. I am sure with the Clancys and the Aitchisons along.. we will have a wonderful time.. it will also be nice to have some friends for Tanner there!

This Coming Friday I signed up to go on Tanners Field Trip to Swiss Valley Nature Center! It’s a program about birds… YUCK… but Tanner was thrilled that I was going to go!

Sunday Tanner and I were very busy. We went to the River Museum and saw Dan Wordell and Word Girl from Iowa Public TV. He used to watch Dan Wordell all the time before he was in kindergarten. We also looked at all the exhibits, saw the big gater and the huge fish! He loved seeing the ducks. We then went out side where he got to ice bowl and watch some ice sculptures being made. Slide down a big ramp for sleds. Then we headed to Burger King for lunch… and then off to the library. He picked out a few books… ones that he can read some of the words. Some DVDs, a computer game and also 2 books on tape. He loves the library and we really should go more.. but its such a mess down there right now. I can wait till the renovation is complete!

Last night Tanner had his first basketball game. He was a little nervous because he said there were taller kids then he was. He is always a little bit scared the first time he does something. So I think it was just that, because there were only a couple kids that were taller then him and one of them was on his team. They play 5 on 5, and there is only 5 kids on his team so he got to play the whole time. He got hit in the face with the ball once… but after a sec ( I think he was stunned) he said.. “I am OK” and ran down the court. He seemed to be having fun and had rosy cheeks from all the running. He also almost always thru the ball back in after it went out of bounds or the other team got a basketball. That was his job.. none of the other kids seemed to mind or even go over to the ref to do it. So Tan always went. He was cute trying to get the ball away from the other kids of keeping his hands up in the air to try and block something. Afterwards he did say he had a good time.
We then went to Borders and Rick got his Fantasy Baseball magazine and they had Tanners Battledrons at 75% off… so they were 2.49. So he picked out a couple. We came home and he played legos and battledrons and then fell asleep!

Lego Boy!

Tanner the Lego Man!

Last night Tanner proclaimed himself a Lego man. He was born to do legos. He loves them, I am a Lego guy! I am not sure what brought this sudden Lego love on. He has always loved to build stuff and to play with them. But last night it was a passion! It was pretty funny. He got out all his Lego catalogs and Lego magazines and went thru them all. He was very pumped to go to the Lego store at downtown Disney. It is similar to the store at the Mall of America but bigger. They have just come out with Toy Story Legos… and I know he is going to want all those sets. Thankfully they are not any of the big expensive ones.. they are not to bad. I am afraid tho that he will want to buy so much that we will have to ship stuff home! I better pack light!

So we went to Ricks eye appointment on Saturday. Tanner was very good. He sat and watched my ipod, he was watching Spongebob! Although since it isn’t something that he isused to doing… he yelled everytime he had a question because of the head phones. It was actually pretty funny. But I think we were the only ones who thought so. Ricks eyes did change a bit but to much. His last appointment was in 2004.. so it has been awhile. We picked out some nice glasses with a clip. I can’t wait for him to get them. I am sure they will be better then the ones he has had for almost 10 years. (last time we just did lenses)

We then went to the book store and Tanner looked around and he got some battledrones at 50% off. He was pretty stoked about that! I am not even sure what you do with those things.. but he loves them. He played with those and legos all afternoon. It was nice.

He did have a tummy ache over the weekend. But gave him some pepto and that seemed to work. Kelly’s daughter was throwing up.. so I hope that isn’t coming around again!

I was going to put a down payment of the Dells trip.. until I found out it was more then half the bill.. so I talked to Kelly and she is going to pay half now as well. So I will get that done this week. I paid the second to last payment on the Disney trip. This Friday the 15th I will be paying it off! VERY EXCITING!

Sunday I signed and paid for Tanners Little League, got him pre-registered for Soccer. I also estimated our taxes and installed the tax software! I am just waiting on my w-2 so we can get going on that refund!

Hopefully it will warm up a bit so I can get those Christmas decorations down outside! At least we have the lights off on them.

Really

Really again... there is no school again on Friday! There was no school today either. I know its snowing out.. but really is it that bad out. Now they have lost 2 days at Easter break. And now more day care bills for this week.

I hope it clears up so that we can go to moms and visit on friday. We also need to go and get Ricks eye examed on Saturday. For some reason I was really tired today at work. I must not be sleeping well at night.

Tanner fell asleep today after work/school. He has been going to bed late! I told hom he had to go to bed early tongiht.. but he is wide awake right now, but I could not get him to wake up before.

Rick shoveled 2 today. He was going to have Tanner go out and play in the snow while he shoveled.. but he would not wake up!

new years resolution

Yep again I am vowing to keep a better blog. \Seems like a lofty goal.. but will give it a try none the less.

Mom had surgery today on her Gall Bladder. Surprisingly it went very well.... we have been accustom to being on the side of.. "well this seldom happens but..." so we were very happy to hear that things went as planned. She is at home now and resting, we will go visiting on Thursday.

We had a great Christmas and Tanner got lots of nice things from all his family and Santa. he loves his Guitar, legos, his new mini hockey rink, Buzz and Cars blankets.. much to many to name.. and of course more Disney Dollars! He has quite alot of monies for the big trip. he is so excited!

We spent a quiet New Years Eve at home and watched a movie and Rick and Tanner fell asleep before midnight and I read a book. It was great.

We had quite a todo at Sams the next day.. I will not go in to detail... but lets say the screwed up our membership and I went crazy when they said there was nothing they could do... but needless to say I got it taken care of and all is well.. although I do not like how they initially handled it.

We are planning out Dells trip with the Aitchisons and Clancys. We are going the weekend of Ricks Birthday. It should be lots of fun. We are renting a condo so we can all stay together.

I need to decide what I want to do with Internet for our Disney trip... I hate to be without it! I know we will be busy.. but would love to be able to post pics and stuff.

Its also time to sign Tanner up for t-ball and Soccer. He wants to do both again. Rick also has an eye appointment this Saturday.. so we will be dropping alot of coin this weekend!
