Just a few quick photos from the weekend. It was a busy one. We had hockey 2 nights and Playhouse Disney today!

The story went well on Friday at Tanners school. He also got to meet Mike Fazio (a Thunderbirds player) and his parents. Mike finally played over the weekend and Tanner was very excited. They had a jersey give away on Saturday night and Tanner was banging on the glass trying to get Mike's attention. Although over the weekend he still was talking about Ian. He said Ian had to come back becuase he was the BEST fighter! He calls #11 this year.. "the Fake Ian". Poor kid.. good thing we dont know him!

Anyway... here are a few pics

Tanners preschool Program was tonight... WOW it was packed... SO MANY people. So we got crappy seats... at least we were able to see him.. thankfully he was on the top row. You cant really hear them sing that well unless you turn it up really loud!

Tanner had a rough day.. I think he is tired from missing 2 naps this week. But he was VERY crabby and mad when I would not get him a Happy Meal today. Then he got mad when I would not carry him to the car.. then again when I would not give him a fruit roll up right before dinner. He seems to be better now. So hopefully Friday will be a better day. I am going to his school to read a story ...so I hope he is a good boy then.

I have heard all the excuses now... the latest reason that Tanner can not clean up his toys by himself is because.....

He only has two hands and is short!

Sunday was a lazy day. I stayed in bed off and on all day. Trying to get better. I did have a nice energy spurt at the end of the afternoon and I cleaned up alot in the house. Tanner was starting to feel better. So that was good!

Monday Tanner got to go on a field trip.. they went to McDonald's playland and got a happy meal... It was probably the best field trip for him.. one of his favorite places! I also got great news and work when we made a deal with the Grand! I was literally running all over the place to share it with Holly, Tim and Renee..

Today is Tuesday and its Tanner and Mommy night. Rick is at the Walhert basketball game with Jeff. So Tanner and I are hanging out tonight! I also scored Disney Playhouse tickets for 10.00 each. They are up high .. like where we sit for Hockey.. but that's ok. Tanner really wanted to go.. and I was NOT spending 45.00 a pop for great seats. He will be just as happy up there. I will take his binoculars too... He is excited. I searched all over online for a promo code to use.. and FINALLY I found one. Every time I take him to a concert/show I look for one and have NEVER found one. It was meant to be! So that is this Sunday at 430.. we have a FULL week....

A bust rest of the week. I am glad I have off on Wednesday to prepare!

Well its been a cruddy week. Tanner and I have been sick! Tanner started with a cough, a deep heavy cough, and a cold.. it has now transferred to me. I have been sick since Wednesday. I just want to lay in bed.. but I cant do that!
Tanner does not like Musinex~!

The weather was awesome the first part of the week! But it did get colder as the week went on. All of our snow had melted.. and it looked like Spring.

We have not done much this week as I was sickie :(

Gymnastics went well on Wednesday and Tanner did well on the big balance beam. He usually gets scared but walked on it alot better then he has ever done.

Tanner had is Valentines day party at school on Friday. He brought home lots of Valentines. He and will traded one as Tanner wanted the Hulk one and Will wanted the Batman one.. To funny! He practiced his songs for the Valentines day Program for me on Friday also.

Last night we had a hockey game to go to. It snowed :( about 3 inches. They had told us only 1 and that it would melt today.. but I don't see that happening. The hockey game was very physical lots of fights.. therefore i think it translated out side as there was a chick fight on the sidewalk when we left. So Michele called the cops. :)

Hopefully later today I will be feeling better!

I find it hard to type on this blog everyday even tho I want to. Things just seem to come up that prevent me from doing so. Lately I have had a lot of headaches. I am wondering if it is sinus troubles. I cant seem to figure it out. I have to get some Excedrin pills from work. they seem to work the best. Kelly/Brenda gave me 4 a couple of weeks ago and I can get by with taking and it takes the pain away. The glare at work really really works some numbers on my head!

Friday afternoon we had kindergarten round up. Tanner was a bit nervous at first. I think he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. Thankfully he had to wait a bit before his assessment and he got comfortable in his surroundings. He did a great job and the teacher told me that we was more then ready for kindergarten. She said he did awesome. She also told us there were about 6 kids from Young Uns that were at round up that day. That is exciting news .. that way Tanner will have some friends and kids to ride Gus the Bus with. I watched and listened to part of what they were asking him. He printed his name and said all the letters and could tell them how many of dinosaurs were left with just looking and not counting out loud! He is such a big boy! :)

Anyway this weekend was a stay at home weekend, which was nice since the next 2 weeks are 2 hockey game weekends... and those always wear me out! I believe Tanner is sick tho.. well I know he is sick.. he has a cold and his cough seems to be getting worse.. and more horse.

Lane came over to play on Saturday morning. The boys ran and played and had so much fun. But coming from a mother of one.... it reminded me that I only want one! It was loud and noisy.. and seemed chaotic. I pretty much let them run and have fun and do what they wanted and I am sure I would not so that if they were both our children.. but it was a nice reminder... LOL. Tanner loves to play with Lane and it is fun to have him over and watch them play even if it it loud and noisy! It doesn't happen every day. Tanner was very sad when Lane left to go home. He pretended he was here the whole night.

We then went to the West Dubuque Tap for Ron Richey's birthday celebration. Tanner of course entertained because that's who he is. He is funny and he doesn't even know it. He watched TV on my Ipod for a while. Then Michele came up and we went home and Michele hung out for a while.

Today Tanner and Rick got their hair cut and mom scrapped a bit.

Monday night was a nice quiet night at home. Tanner played out in the living room and we watched TV in the bedroom. He went in his own room in his own bed and we got to watch CSI Miami for the first time in about 4 years. I miss that show.. its a bit gory at times tho!
Monday night at the dinner table Rick asked Tanner is he tired to kiss Addie again.. and he hung his head down and said.. well a little bit... A little bit... isn't that like being a little bit PG! Oh boy... we may have to separate those too. He said she started it.. and that I am not sure if I believe!

Today was a nap day at school so I had a nice leisurely lunch here at home. Actually I come home and watch TV and play Mob wars or Path Words on Facebook! When I picked him up he showed me a penny and told me that Addison gave it to him. She brought a Hannah Montana purse to school and she had money in it and she shared with him. They also must be doing some project at school for Valentines day because he would not tell me what they did today.. all he said was .. Its a secret!

This Friday is Kindergarten round up. Tanner is very excited about it. He said he wants to show the teachers how smart he is! Lets hope he doesn't say anything to strange eh!

Ok... So we have had alot going on this week.

Tanner had gymnastics on Wednesday night, and then we ran to Sam's to pick up monthly supplies. Thursday night we went to the grocery store to pick up the other monthly supplies.

Friday night Tanner went with Michele and hung out with Will Imbus. He had a great time.. and Michele said he talked non stop the whole way home. Not surprising! He got home around 1030. Rick and I went to Target and shopped for Emma and then hung out at home.. and enjoyed a quiet evening.. it was rare!

Saturday we had Emma's B-day party. Tanner has never been to skate county before. He got skates on and went right out there.. but then he was going the wrong way and got told to go the correct way and he got freaked out a bit and did not like that and would not go back out on the floor. Well the only way I could get him to do that was if I put on skates .. so I did. In total we did about 4 laps total.... spilt up. As he was really more wanting to play the video games (well pretend to play). He and Jack.. ate popcorn like there was no tomorrow. They were crazy with it.. shoving it in like they had not eaten in weeks. It was kind of funny! Then he really wanted a ring pop off the cake. But he didn't get that till we left.. for safety purposes... After the party we went to McDonald's as he was hungry.

Saturday night we had a hockey game.. where Tanner announced he was bored!... another reason not to get tickets next year. 100.00 for him to be bored! Umm I think not. Michele rode down with us. We didn't get home till 10.

Sunday was our Big Bob the Builder show in Cedar Falls. We left at 11 and got home at 5. Roads were clear (a blessing for February) and we enjoyed the show. Got a souvenir (of course when doesn't he) and stoped at Mcd's for dinner. Right now Tanner we just got done watching the 3-d thing on TV at the half of the Superbowl. Dad is pretty happy right now. Tanner is watching Kung Fu Panda for the 3rd time in 2 days and Rick is downstairs watching the 2nd half.

Its been a quiet few days. Sunday we didn't do much.. stayed inside because it was cold.. well it is cold everyday it seems like. But for dinner we went to Champs. We got the Mile high dessert and had to take well over half home. We don't go out to eat much so we made the most of it and got dessert. Tanner talks SOO loud when ever we are out an restaurants... I am not sure if he thinks we cant hear him or what!

Monday was a pretty normal day.. work and school. Michele stopped over after work and picked something up and Tanner invited her to his Valentines day program. He is very excited to sing songs for us! They played with coffee grounds today in preschool and talked about the 5 senses. He pointed to all of his and new exactly where and what they were! Last night he did not make it thru the night in his bed. We had been doing good... we will see how tonight goes.

Today they played with shaving cream in daycare and his hands are pretty red.. I think they must have put some red paint in there as well. He ate like a pig and Pops and grandmas.. ate a happy meal a roll up, french fires 2 of my chicken strips and a bowl of cereal! He must be hitting a growth spurt!

Well its off to get him cleaned up and in the shower. On a side note.. if you all could say a quick prayer for my GF's father in law.. he is in the hospital.. suffered a stoke a month ago and now has some type of infection and they are not sure what it is. Alvin is such a sweet man, hate to hear of him suffer! Thanks!

Last night Michele came over and we scrapped for a few hours and I did about 8 pages. Tanner watched TV and then decided to take all his clothes off down to his underwear and run around... yep Michele was still there. Another proud moment in the Buol house! He is just so goofy... all he kept saying is I am HOT! As in heat hot that is!

This morning Tanner is at Lane's house playing for a bit and Rick is at work. I am at home chilling right now. I cleaned up the house a bit and put away a few things.. but its actually pretty clean so I am not going to do that. I am going to go and take a bath and then I might scrap again while I have the time. There are a few things in here that I want to clean up..

Its been another busy week! Monday night Tanner wanted to go to the library. So the 3 of us headed down. Tanner picked out 4 movies 2 games and I got himm some books. I thought we could go to story time.. but he wanted nothing to do with it. Maybe next time!

Tuesday after work I went out to dinner with my GF Teresa. It was good to see her and catch up and be able to eat with out saying.. "would you eat and stop watching TV" We decided that we def have to get togather more often. It is nice to have a firend that understands that sometimes life gets busy (she has 2 kids) and they moms dont always get to have free time to go out to dinner. I am glad that we do not hold that against each other and are jsut happy when we squeeze some time in to talk and laugh! Love ya T!!!

Anywho... tonight we had gymnastics.. and I really must take my camera and get some pics.. as he does pretty good. His cartwheels tonight were awesome! He is currently watching.. yep.. Sponge Bob.. shocking I know!

Well I got a nasty headache so I am going to go and take a bath and lay down!

Today we went to the Fish Museum and saw Curious Geroge and Dan Wardell( PBS guy). At first Tanner was a bit scared of the customed people.. and of Dan.. but after we went to story time and he read a very animated story book.. he was fine and got his picture taken. We did not wait around to get a pic with Curiuos George as the line was HUGE... and he was fine with that. He wanted a Happy Meal.

Yesterday we celebrated Christmas with my family. Tanner was very excited to see them and of course to get presents. He got a Spiderman studio training game.. he really liked, a nerf gun, a new game, A Thomas card game and a few other things.

We also played a new card game and played Scatagories.. my favorite game! We then got to looking at some old pics from when Kim and I were little. We decided to scan the pics as they are in those old sticky albums and are falling apart.. and the pictures will soon deteriorate... So Kim took half and I have the other half! I am sure that it will take a bit to do.

When we got home.. Tanner did not want to go to bed and would not fall asleep till 11. He didn't getup today until almost 930! We signed him up for Soccer and t-Ball yesterday... so hopefully he will have a fun summer!

WOW WOW WOW... is it ever cold here. It was -45 wind Chill out.. BRRRR.

I told Tanner it was dangerously cold outside.. so what does he do.. he pulls his ski mask down and he cant see where he is walking and walks right into a snowbank at my parents house. He was covered in white.

He has only had preschool once this week.. this makes me very sad! I am glad I am not paying for it and the State of Iowa is.. or I would be even more mad! He loves to go. If the cancel school or have a delay .. preschool is canceled.

Right now he is watching TV and asking why he doesn't have wings.. this frightens me... as I can see him jumping off something tall and wondering why he didn't fly and breaking a leg! Oh can anyone say Keith Martelle! (a boy I grew up with who did the same thing!!!)

Last night at gymnastics he almost has his 1 handed cartwheel down. He gets almost completed and sticks his hand down and the last second! He does really well with back bends.. or whatever they call them now.. and backward rolls. He still HATES the high beam tho.. will not walk it alone... even tho there are tons of pads and stuff so he couldn't possibly get hurt.

Friday night he wants to camp out int he basement.. after the hockey game! Saturday we sign up for soccer!

Last night we went to the Globetrotters. I have not seen them in years. This was Tanner's first time. At first he was jumping around and not paying attention like he does at hockey. But eventually he started watching and he really enjoyed it and thought it was alot of fun. We bought him a headband and he wore it the rest of the night.. and much of today. he was very excited to show his teachers at school. Sarah.. his Daycare teacher said that was all he talked about all day. We are glad he had a good time!

Today was a REALLY REALLY cold day. We did have blizzard blast at work tho.. this is where we celebrate winter and have a sledding party at work. We sleigh ride down the back hill on lunch and breaks.. at about 230 20 of us went out. I normally just watch.. but beings we are moving into a new building and this may be our last time.. I thought I better get out there and do it once. I forgot my hat.. so I wrapped my scarf around my head like a turban.. and went like that. It was fun.. but I ended up covered in snow.. and I think my legs are still cold. I took a lot of pics.. but here are the ones Diana took of me... :)

Well the weekend is coming to an end.... always sad.. LOL.

This was the first day in a while that I felt good for the whole day.. maybe whatever bug I had in my system is finally gone! I would like to start working out on the Wii on a regurlar basis.. but just have not felt the best. I also want to get outdoor games which I have heard is also a workout!

Yesterday I had a headache all day and most of the night. I tried talking Tanner into not going to the hockey game. But he said.. I love hockey I want to go. Well when we got there he rode on the seats, played trains and ate candy for over half of the game.. so I am not sure he did much watching of the sport he loves so much. I think he loves to hang with Papa and Grandma at the games. Papa gave us a ride to our car as it has snowed again!

I took a bath when I got home and the headache seemed to have finally gone away.

Today was a lazy day.. i did a bit of scrapping and Tanner played trains. Rick took him to get a haircut and they went to the pet store and to mcdonalds. Rick is watching the Steelers and Tanner the Rugrats right now.

He was pretty proud of himself.. ****WARNING>> KIND OF GROSS**** He finally wiped his own butt (we have been trying to get him to do this forever) and was so proud of himself that he came running in and pulled down his pants and screamed.. I wiped my own but sparkling clean! Oh Boy.. that was to much.. I could not stop laughing... had tears rolling down my face.

Last night Tanner asked me if I was going to fire Papa and Grandma because he did not nap yesterday! I just don't know where he gets this stuff!

It was a yucky day outside. It was snowy off and on all day. Tanner had nap day today and was playing outside when I went to pick him up.

We came home and I had an awful stomach ache.. it was terrible. So I layed down for a while. Rick got home at 530 and he made some hamburgers.. thats when the trouble began. We should have left for the hockey game at about 640ish... but Tanner would not eat and sat at the dinner table till 740. He ate about half of his hamburger. It was ridiculous.. he just wouldn't eat. I didn't want to go to the game anyway because I was sick.. but I was going to go because he wanted to go.. but we did not get there until the start of the second period.

And of course it was snowing when we came out and the drive home was slippery and not fun! I am glad the day is over!

Another week has almost slide by. First week I have worked a full week in a while. Its been a busy one too. Tanner has gone back to preschool and is now napping at Young Uns 2 days a week. He likes to nap there.. he thinks its a special day when he gets to. I like to come home and clean the house for an hour in peace! That almost NEVER happens.

He started his gymnastics back up also.. .but was very sad to find out that Cameron has moved up a class. There are still a couple of other little fellas in the class. He does like Issac also .. but Cam has been a buddy for a couple years. :( poor kid.

We got info on Kindergarten roundup.. (in Feb), we are also going to sign up for Soccer and T-ball this summer. We are hoping that they are not the same night. I know Soccer is on Thursdays... so we are hoping T-ball is not! I got the park and rec brochure and are looking at some Saturday Art classes this winter. He liked them last year so we may do some again. Its also a nice quiet break for 2 hours. There is also a program on Monday nights at the library.. but that requires parental participation.. but it would be fun.

We are going to the Harlem Globetrotters on Monday with Young Uns, and in Feb we are headed to Bob the builder!

No nap today at Pop and Grandmas house.... so hopefully he will be a tired buckaroo tonight and head early.. but I doubt it.

We were like What? Then Rick started to think about it.. and we bet that my dad says... OK lets go eat breakfast. Ok lets go play soccer Ok lets go do this or that... so Tanner thinks that my dad's nickname for him is "OK"

Pretty funny huh... and Pretty smart thinking!

Tanner wanted some ice cream today. I said really ice cream and I asked why. He said "because I love the sweet taste so much"

Tanner smacked his hand on the kitchen table and was holding it .. and saying.. owe owe owe... So I said .. here let me kiss it. He said.. and I quote.. " Nothing is better then the sweet kiss of mama! " Not sure where he comes up with this stuff.. but its sweet.. and way cute!

He also told us today that he was going to call us Mother and Father as he is a big boy and thats what big boys do. Although he has yet to say it.. its still mama or mommy and Daddy!

Go Hawks.... Yesterday The Hawkeyes won the Outback Bowl. Daddy watched all the game.. and Tanner a little bit. He did love to give daddy high fives tho!

Today we got our wondsheild fixed.... Merry Christmas to me! NOT!

We also went to Carlos O'Kellys for Micheles b-day! Good times with some great friends. (and co workers too... isnt that jsut the best) Clancys were there, as was Tim, Holly, Allison, Nicole, Jen... and others... it was just eating and a few drinks.. and Many laughs. Love to hear Holly giggle! Rick and I also hatched a plan to host a Vegas night at our house.. so if you are reading this... you would probably be invited! Plans to become more solid soon! Love to have guests at the Buol house!

Tanner made it to 10:15. Rick at 11:15 and I was up till 12:15... then slept off an on while I watched the Kathy Griffin Marathon.


Today Rick made breakfast and Tanner ate 4 eggs, 4 pieces of toast and 6 pieces of bacon! WOW!


Right now the boys are watching the Hawks pound the Gamecocks! Well Tanner is running between that and Sponge Bob. I am in my scrapping room.. which is where I would like to be for most of the day. Need to get caught up on MAJOR projects!

Its been a quiet 2 days. We are all finally better and no longer sick. Rick thankfully did not get sick at. He has been busy at work tho.. he has inventory this week and has been home late both nights. Hopefully he will get done early on Wednesday.

Tanner has a New Years Eve Party at Young uns on Wednesday. He gets to wear his jammies and they count down at noon. He is pretty excited. Today was Happy Meal day as I picked him up early as the kids were headed to the pool.

On Eve I think my parents may come over and maybe Michele. We may play some Wii or cards.. but pretty mellow night. After Wed.. I am off till Monday.... a nice 4 day weekend again!

Tanner is feeling much better. So much bettter that he helped Daddy shovel. Ok.. so maybe he was trying to golf!

Sry no post yesterday. We have been sick off and on. Tanner has been for about a week. Today is the first day that he hasnt been sick on either end. Now I am afraid that I have it. I dont think as bad as he. But still not good :( I feel better today. But still not 100%

Just a quickie....
Breathing tube is out. She is pretty drugged up on Morphine as her chest hurts from the pounding they did not it. She Is sitting up and knows she is in hospital and who folks are. But does not rememeber what happened. Hopefully things are on the upswing.

The hits just keep on coming. My sister was rushed to the hospital this morning. She was unresponsive. Her potassium was high again. They put a breathing tube in and she really fought it and then went into cardiac arrest. They got her stabilized and rushed her to dialysis, which reduces the potassium levels. They have kept her sedated. This is the second time this has happened in the last couple weeks. Currently she is out of dialysis. Dad said she is trying to open her eyes and is gagging on the breathing tube. Hopefully good signs.

We are not sure if there is going to be any permanent damage. Praying that there is not.

Winter play day 12/20

Mom was making cookies and Daddy and Tanner were out shoveling the deck. Well actually they were throwing snowballs at each other.

Tonight we are going to Murphy Park.

It was a BAD BAD BAD DAY, in fact its not been a good week for us at all.

Today we woke up to 8" of snow. Rick went out to shovel so I could get to work as I open. I am the only management there that early. I have NEVER NEVER not made it... can you see where this is going..

I get up the big hill... and discover that NOTHING in the city has been plowed... or maybe once threw... but other then that nothing.. so I slide down my parents hill to take Tanner. Well I make the mistake of trying to turn in there drive way... Well guess what I got stuck and Tanner learned all kinds of colorful new language. My poor dad comes out.. (the one with the new knew.. and not so good ticker and blood pressure) and he is trying to push me out... I am trying to get out and trying to call someone at work to see if they can get there as I knew I wasn't going to make it for awhile. I was seriously about to cry.. it was horrible. I wasn't sure if I should cry or scream. I was so upset and frustrated. Dad thinks I need new tires! Finally some men stop in a big truck and are able to push me out.. so I get Tanner out and go along my merry way to work.

I call Rick on the way and put him on speaker and I get stuck in an intersection.. luckily I was able to get out after just a few minutes.. by this time I am so steaming mad I am cussing like a sailor.

I get to work and see that folks had gotten in.. as I was not able to get a hold of anyone.. until I was unstuck... Bless Mike Garsides soul as he had the forethought to get up early and go to work and be there by 630.... gotta love him! He said he could not believe I wasn't there.

So My Dad takes Tanner to daycare.... they cancel his preschool program again... for good this time mind you.. so I am upset about that! Rick gets a ride to work from a co-worker.. which is nice as he has a 20 min drive.

I go through the day.. my dad drops Tanner off at 3 to see Santa at Medline. That was fun.. I will upload pic later. Well Tanner and I go to leave.. I clean off my windshield.. only to discover a Giant crack in it. OH I THOUGHT I WOULD SCREAM. But didn't want to have Tanner hear my colorful language AGAIN! We call the insurance company and they say if its long then a dollar bill... they do not replace for free. So she calls around for us.. (what a nice gal.. So nice) and finds us the cheapest place to get it done.. but 230.00 and cant get done till Tuesday! So about this time I am going to cry.. as tires.. and a windshield.. We don't have that $$ laying around!

Dad calls.. i tell him the saga of the windshield., and he says.. well maybe you can rotate your tires and get you through till spring.. well the tires are all snowy right now so I cant look. But praying he is right..

Right now Rick is at his Christmas party since Tanners program was canceled. And Tanner and I are hanging out. We played Wii Fit for a while... and he is now watching ICarly.. I think I am going to go look for a drink. There has to be something around here for me.

So today I was excited.. then sad, then mad... then happy again. So Eddie had called and was going to try and get Tanner the elusive Bat cave that I can not find anywhere. They were going to Target in CR. But I looked online after getting the call to see that they were out of stock.. so I got sad.

Then I got an email stating they were canceling the Tanners Preschool program because it was Supposed to snow sometime tonight.. UMMM WHAT! I will say that its 930 at night right now.. and UMM NO SNOW! I was ticked. Tanner is so bummed and sad. They are going to try again on Friday night.. but if the snow really comes.. then I am sure it will be canceled again.. and they said it wont be made up :(.. so I was pissed.

Then on my way home Eddie and Kim called and saved the day.... The found the BatCave at Toys R us. SO HAPPY. They are bringing on Eve and we will sneak to the car and bring home to wrap for the morning.. THEY ROCK! So then I was really HAPPY!!!!!!

We played the Wii Fit tonight. Way fun. I wanted to play more but Tanner wanted to play something else .. so I let him.

I am headed to bed.. and umm still no snow!

Poor Tanner got sick last night at 2 AM. He threw up in bed. It always freaks him out when that happens.. as it doesnt happend very often. In the morning he said he felt better but when it was time to go to preschool.. he was so tired and cold.. Papa thought he should stay home.. so he did. He was better after he woke up from his nap at their house. So I think he is ok. :)

I didnt sleep much last night after that.. so I left work at 1 and picked Tanner up and we came home .. and I was sleeping by 130. Tanner to took a long nap and I had to wake him at 445.

Its been a lazy night waiting for the snow to come again! I hope they dont cancel his program again.

LeT iT sNow Let It SnOw! Yepp its snowing again. And it is suppossed to snow again on Thursday!! :( yep that is the day of the rescheduled Preschool Holiday Program. Those poor kids. We will never get it in. The make up date is Friday.. and thats Ricks Holiday party.. and Grandma Di and Papa *I think* have something with the Richeys maybe.. I can't rememeber what it is.

Well I made the Pretzel logs tonight. and Tanner did the sprinkles on them.. ***WOW*** i think he used the whole jar! They are really red! LOLOLOL.

We played Sorry Sliders on the Wii tonight..thats kind of a fun game. Tanner really liked it!

Well I have to get the preschool presents ready.. and the one for Gymnastics.

So I am out!

OH MY GOSH..... ITS FrEEzING here. The high today was 5. So that made the wind chill even colDEr!

I dont have much to say because I am cold and am going to take a bath. Tanner is out playing the Wii.. he is bowling.. he LOVES that!. So I am going to sneak some alone time and soak and warm up in a hot bath!

I was going to do some chocolate dipped pretzels.. but I think I am going to wait and do them on Tuseday...

Oh yeah we are expecting a snow storm too :(

Sunday.. another BUSY day. Basically finished shopping. I am looking for 1 thing for Tanner... but thats it. I went to Target today.. WHAT A ZOO... it was almost as bad as black Friday! Holy smoley!

I finished all the teacher gifts.... made another kind of cookie.. and the cream cheese mints. Got the supplies to make the appetizers for Christmas Eve. I am leaving the Christmas Day stuff up to Rick. I have done everything else. I shopped for almost everything and wrapped almost everything... so he can do that.

We went to the Medline party last night. It was a good time. We watched the hypnotist show.. that was good for a few giggles. We sat with Michele, Holly and Angela... Jennifer and Carl. We did play Joan Rivers again... and its so hard not to. Clinton and Stacy really should have been there.. they would have had a hey day! WOW.

Monday starts the last week of the year where I have to work 5 days... WOO HOO.... 2 3 day work weeks ahead! Cant wait!

Lost a couple of days. I went to our management Holiday party at my bosses house on Thursday night. That is always so much fun.. and lots of good food! Went home with a Kohl's gift card :)... well I left with it.. but that is where I was going after the party so I spent it right away!

Friday was a busy day. Tanner went to preschool and I shopped, wrapped all his gifts. I picked him up and then made 12 mini loaves of bread and 2 batches of cookies. I was so tired last night! My legs hurt from standing int he kitchen.

Tonight is our Holiday party for my work! So Tanner will be hanging out with Papa. Papa is taking him to Bolt. Tanner is very excited to have a surprise with Pop tonight.

Tanner and Rick are currently outside playing right now. Its 40 out here and Rick is getting the ice scrapped off the sidewalks... thankfully it wont be there all season like last year!

We are almost done with our shipping have 4 presents left to get. We know what we are getting just need to do it. I MAY buy Tanner 1 more thing. It just depends. He really wants this Batcave set from Fisher Price.. its cute.. and he has a lot of the pieces that go with it already! We'll see.

Well I am off to make more cookies.

We did get the Wii. Tanner was very excited and played with it right away. He likes the bowling. He had asked all day when we were getting it.

He went to gymnastics tonight. SOO DID NOT LIKE THE HIGH BEAM. He was scared. Then slide off and cried. He didnt get hurt. But was upset. He doesnt like high things. He was also very tired tongith so that didnt help. When we got home he wanted to bowl So he and Daddy bolwed. But then he said he had a headache and wanted to lay down. He is watching Horton hears a Who. Hope he isnt coming down with anything.

No Christmas program tonight :( it was so snowy and icy! :( they are going to do it another night. But have not heard which one yet.

I was going to make some Cookies tonight.. but so got totally side tracked looking up what Wii games to buy. I have $$ in my Pay Pal account I am going to use and also a 50.00 gift card from my Cell Phone. So i figure I can get 3 games. :) We are co buying it! So exciting! We will be taking it to my parents house on eve so we can all play as it is something that Tanner can play as well. I may buy another game too.. with my Christmas bonus since I really didn't buy much for the family with that.

Anyone have any suggestions.... I am looking for games that we can play as a family.. and NO VIOLENT ones! :)

Today was a nasty weather day! It was spitting ice off and on all day long. They let schools out early.

We went to Ricks moms for dinner and stayed and let Tanner play for awhile. But I wanted to get home as it was still spitting and then it started to snow. We stopped at Target grab the last present for Minnesota. I have gotten done wrapping them and they are all boxed up for Rick to take to his moms for the trip up.

Tanner was very sad when he found out that he was not going to get to see his cousins over the holiday :(

Well its Sunday night. Its going to be a long busy week. I should be looking forward to it.. but really I am not. I am tired just thinking about it. I was supposed to be free on Monday but Rick told hi mom we would come over for dinner... Not that I don't want to.. it was just my only free night. I have been going since Friday of this week.

Friday... I am off work... but am baking all day for the holidays and for some gift giving.

Today Tanner got up at 830 and he and daddy went to church (he was bribed with doughnuts and a matchbox car) and I stayed home and cleaned the house and changed all the sheets... Its been a busy weekend. I also got our lights in all the front windows.

We then went to hockey at 130 and got home at 5, ate a quick dinner and then put up our tree upstairs. Then it was bath night and we are lounging in bed right now... I would love to go to sleep but the Tan Man is still awake!

I missed Friday. We had a pretty busy day! It was Holiday Bonus time at work.. which is always fun! Then when I went to pickup Tanner my mom had the stuff ready for Toys for Tots at the hockey game on Saturday night. She tells Tanner that they toys are for the poor children. Well on the way out of the house I said that we were going to Target to return one of the toys that he had gotten 2 of at Target. He also had a gift card to use there. So Tanner decided that he should give his toy to the poor children instead of returning it! What a sweet boy! He really does have a heart of gold.

We went to Target and he picked out some Batman toys. We then came home and ate. I went to Kohl's and did ALOT of Christmas shopping.

He also went right to bed last night....slept in his own bed all night because St Nick was coming.

He got up and got Don't Spill the Beans and a new Planet Hero. He was thrilled.... He came running into our room and saying "He came He came" I will put a pic up soon.

We then ate breakfast and then went and got haircuts (I went to Kohl's again and picked up Carly's gift) and then we came home.

We then put up the Tree in the basement and all the decorations down there. We were going to put the tree upstairs up. I got it together and fluffed.. but ended up with an EXTREME headache. So I went to lay down a bit. Tanner came and laid with me and we both fell asleep. In fact he is still sleeping now. We just finished dinner and are cleaning up. I will have to wake him up soon since we have to leave for the game at 630. We have to stop at moms and pick up her ticket as she forgot it. (she is working at Grand till 730)

Hopefully Sunday night we can finish the tree and the decorations upstairs.. we are only half ready for Christmas. Although I do have a BIG chunk of shopping done! Woo hoo! Only a few things left to buy!

Tonight we watched The Polar Express. This has quickly become one of my favorite holiday movies. It truly does capture the magic of the season. I love to watch it with Tanner. (although he does ask soooo many questions about everything.. you know like why are the elves wearing green tights) Anyway there are certain parts he just stops and really watches and is totally silent. One of these parts of course is when the reindeer come out and so does Santa. One of the bells falls off the reindeer and the little boy picks it up and eventually asks Santa to keep it.

.........If you have never seen the movie.. You can only hear the bell if you truly believe in Santa.. the magic of the season... at the beginning of the movie the little boy does not believe. But at the end he does and is able to hear the bell..........

So tonight after watching that part Tanner turns to me and says. "I hope Santa brings me a bell like that.. I want to hear it too. " I bet Santa will bring Tanner that bell. I really hope that he keeps that magic for awhile. Its really sweet to see/hear. It really does help the magic of the season. It is the most wonderful time of the year. Seeing things thru the eye of a child is a most wonderful thing!

And as Tom Hanks said in the movie... "The thing about trains... it doesn't matter where they're going. What matters is deciding to get on. "

Wacky Wednesdays.....or should I say busy Wednesdays... they go so fast. We get home from work/grandmas and we rush around and have dinner and then rush off to gymnastics. When we get home its about 715 and seems like the night is almost over.

Tanner loves to go to gymnastics. He is getting better at his cartwheels and forward rolls. It does make him hyper for the rest of the night... I thought it would make him tired.. but not really.

I am usually really tired on these nights. And for some reason my neck has been hurting all day.. I think I slept wrong on it, its also given me a headache!

Tonight we picked up the cookie dough from Gymnastics and found that Tanner had won a prize. He won a mini basketball. He of course wanted it to get blown up right away when we got home. He then practiced dribbling in the kitchen... which helped the headache.

Anyway... I am headed to bed, I need to get rid of the headache.

2 days in a row .. can you beleive it. I thought I am going to try and blog everyday in December... even if it just a short snipet of soemthing that happned that day.

Such as today... It was Tuesday.. Tanners nap day at Young Uns. Grandma works on Tuesdays right now so Tanner gets his blue cot and sleeps at school. Well I am not totally sure that he sleeps.. but lets say he lays down. They are always outside when I come and pick him up.

Today we went to lunch with Renee. We went to Champs. They do have good food. I had the BBQ Chicken sandwich .. it was good.. but our contact there also gave us 2 free appetizers and free dessert.. so I am suffed.. I mean like really full.

After we got home Tanner wanted to play on the deck in the backyard. So I sat at the table and read the newspaper and then got out the work laptop and went online and did a few things. I really dig having a laptop. I am hoping that they give them to all the managers sometime next year ..when we get our new building. I keep telling Renee that.. even our IT guy thinks that its a good idea.... and really they could build the price into the new building... I think anyway.

I was a bad mom today. I forgot to take snowpants and didnt even have boots yet for school. Tanner did borrow some boots from school so he could go outside. Thankfully I had bought another pair of snowpants this weekend. We keep one at school and one at home.

Right after work we went to Kohls and used my 20 dollars in Kohls cash to by Boots! They are some nice ones too. 50.00 regularly for 25.00.

So now we are good to go for the season.

Ok.. oppps.. that's all I can say. Last weekend... (the 22nd-23rd) We had hockey and Kim & Co came to town and we celebrated Thanksgiving. Tanner also got more b-day presents. I really think his favorite gift this year is his ICarly DVD's. They are in the DVD player all the time. He loves that show... she is so hot.. LOL. Oh and Rick ate 4 pieces of my my moms pumpkin pie.. and I got none!

On the 26th I surprised him and took him to Sesame Street Live. He had lots of fun, he got to high 5.. the count and also Grover.. Twice.... We also bought an 8 dollar.. yes I said 8 dollar balloon! and a little Elmo. He really got into it in the second half and was yelling for the characters to come over by him. We had row B seats but there was an empty chair in front of us.. so he was hanging on that!

Turkey days was a quiet day and we just sat around and ate.. it was just the 3 of us.... it was relaxing. Michele and I went to Kmart and to Michaels that night.. I bought Tanner a little light up red tinsel tree for his room. Tanner fell asleep at 600.. and then woke up at 8.

Yes I did go out shopping on black Friday. I was at Kohls by 430! I was home by 8. I went to Walmart and Target (which was the worst). At Target there was this insane guy behind me that was trying to pick a fight with some women. He said she kept banging her cart into him on purpose so he would get out of line.. WHAT.. who does that. He just kept swearing and stuff... Dude.. if you cant handle crowds.. do not go shopping on Black Friday!

The rest of the weekend was quiet.. Michele came over on Saturday night ans we scrapped. I did almost 30 pages this weekend. I really need to get rid of some of the stuff I have.. So hopefully I will be doing some power scrapping.

Rick and Tanner played in the leaves on Saturday afternoon.. it was nice out. I put up the Christmas lights outside.. thankfully as today it snowed!

been awhile

Ok so its been a while. We've been busy.

Thursday Tanner and I went to Target and he picked out a new toy and used his money from Grandma Mi. We also went to Kohl's and picked up a few things there... I needed new pants for work....as I have not many that fit.

Last Friday night we wet to the hockey game. Holly and Ron also came to the game. About all I can say about that is there was a good fight in the first period. They played like crap!

Saturday night we had a party for some of the Grand folks. That was fun. I had not had that much to drink in a while.. and boy did I have a headache in the AM. There was much laughing and Tanner I think had fun too. We let him open 1 b-day present. He opened his Creative Arts Studio. He played with that for a while that night also.

On Sunday we celebrate the BIG 5. We went to Bowling and Beyond for the party. He had 11 kids come to his party and they had fun bowling and eating cake. It was a bit chaotic... as all of the kids wanted there own balls and did not want to share. He got a lot of nice presents and of course when we got home he had to open them all. We had BOXES everywhere! We had to buy extra tags at the grocery store to put out more garbage.

Sunday night was a sad day as Renee called to tell me that Elle Grap had passed away. She is a coworker and has 5 children.. the youngest being only5. She had a heart attack. It was a sad day at work on Monday. Right now they are trying to figure out how to best support her sister (another medline co-worker) and the kids. She was a neat lady, great laugh. I had a few emails from her that I saved.. and I am forever glad that I did so that I can go back and read them. Its very weird when someone dies suddenly.. I really keep thinking that she is going to walk back up those stairs and into the building. I am not going to the services as seeing her that way is not a memory that I want to keep. I would like to keep the happy go lucky gal in my mind.

Today we got Tanners Advent calendar for this year. I got it from Playmobil. It has a pirate theme. It is way cute!

Sunday was a lazy day for us. We didn't do anything or go anywhere. But those days are my favorite. Tanner did want to go outside at about 5.. but I said Brrrrrrr. I also made and Advent Calendar and a mini Holiday recipe book. I have been wanting to compile all my sweets in 1 book.. so I was pretty happy. Its VERY basics. but that's all I need.. everything together.

He did mention that on Sunday he has now decide to marry Addy. Sorry.. Em don't know what happened. But his sights are now on Addison! Which makes Will happy as he digs Emma.. and you wouldn't want to upset the best of buds with romance.. LOLLOLOLOLOL

Today .. the first day of the week.. Blech.. I hate Mondays. It was payroll day and I actually forgot about it till I looked down at my calendar and was like.. oh duh! It got done in time but now as quickly as normal. I am also really sick of wearing dress clothes to work! I can not wait till the week of turkey day! It is Farmer's Market at work this week.. so W/th/F I may make some extra $$$ I do like that!

Tonight Tanner and I packed his goodie bags for his bowling party on Sunday. Of course he wanted all the extra stuff. He is pretty excited for that! We also got our new camcorder so mama is excited to use that.

Right now he is watching ICarly for the 1 thousandth time! Grandma Di.. he is going to LOVE LOVE those DVDs!

Yesterday I was oof. So Tanner and I slept in. I took him to preschool and then I went birthday shopping. I also bought him a couple of power ranger costumes... they were 75% off. He loves to place dress up so he was excited to have them. He wore them all afternoon. He was supossed to take a nap... ya right.

Today we went to the Kids Expo down at the Grand River Center. I was not really impressed. I didnt even see a city booth which I thought was odd. All Tanner wanted to do was play on the LT amusment things. I wanted to get him finger printed and stuff.. but he would not do it. For some reason he was scared of the Police.. I dont think that is a good thing. :( We have to get him over that fear! I wonder if all kids his age are.

Today Tanner asked Rick why he did not like to take baths. He then asked if it was becuase he did not like to sit inhis own dirt!

Monday was not a good day. There were issues all over. Some of them are still unresolved as of today. L I really do not care to get into it… but lets say I was disappointed in some people I thought were above pettiness. I am trying to put it behind me and move on.

Tanner has been talking about Obama and McCain now for quite sometime. He must have overheard Rick and I talking one night. I know on Tuesday he did ask me if I voted. I also know that they have been talking about it a bit in school. He also has been calling John McCain a nutbar. He also states that he is cheering for Obama… that’s what he always says. Today he did tell me that Obama won and that they talked about it in school. He is a pretty smart kid as we were watching the SNL show Monday night and he kept saying that’s not Obama and McCain.. that is people dressed up like them.

On Monday he also had his preschool conferences. They went very well. Ms Carsen stated that she thinks he is very intelligent. He likes to work with numbers and math, which is good because I don’t like that at all. She also stated that he is the leader in the class.. because if it is something he doesn’t want to do most of the other kids then follow in his steps and wont do it either, I am not sure if that is good or bad! He loves to do “jobs” in the room. He is one of the older kids in the classroom and also is in his second year of preschool.

Tuesday we spent most of the night watching the election results come in. They finally called the race at 10:00 after the poles closed on the west coast.. I stayed up watching the speeches. I thought John McCain gave a very gracious speech and tried to get the people to be unified as one nation. I also like how he mentioned Obama’s grandmother. Obama’s speech was also wonderful. He really electrified the audience of 160,000 people in Grant park! They showed Jesse Jackson and also Oprah a few times. I do find it ironic that Jesse Jackson was crying when just a few weeks ago he was not saying such positive things about him.

Tonight we have gymnastics and then also pictures for gymnastics so we have to be there at 530. I hope to be able to go to bed early tonight! I am tired. I am very glad that I am off on Friday

He also lost the bonding on his chipped tooth... but I am not paying 200.00 again to have it put back on!

Last night we had a couple friends over to the Wii. We borrowed it from some other friends. Tanner loved it. He is sad that i told him we have to give it back on Monday.

Today we went and visited Great Grandma Mi ... we showed her our costume and also took her a birthday gift. Tanner ran and ran all over her apartment until I thought my head was going to explode.

I also cleaned the house and took down all the Halloween decorations.

I went shopping at Michaels and sawy WAY to many Christmas things I wanted!

and second.. hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween. tanner did 2 1/2 streets before he got tired. Rick said that there were alot of lights not on, so i think he lost interest. He came back and helped hand out candy. He loved that!

The other day Tanner asked if "oh shit" was a bad word...

Tonight we have gymnastics and he has had no nap today. :(He is all hopped up on sugar from his preschool Halloween party!
